Logic Professional X turns your Mac pc into a expert recording facilities able to handle also the most demanding tasks. I'll stick with Studio One.Logic Pro X Mac Pc Into. The underlying hardware may well be the problem but it's the DAW that isn't working, NOT the underlying hardware. The part of the forum is about DAWS, or so it says and this entire problem related to a DAW and not to a Mac, a Hackintosh or a VM.

Studio One works fine on Windows 10 (it also works well on a Virtual Win10) so one plus to Studio One and a big MINUS to Logic in that respect. I think my days with Apple and Logic Pro look bleak. I researched building one on my ASUS B250 but the chances of gettin everything to work seemed unlikely. It's rumoured that Intel are working on yet another CPU 'upgrade' and both companies will make sure that the latest releases and subsequent software development will force users to buy more expensive hardware to tun it. Then they make sure that its more and more difficult to get software not from Apple Store and Microsoft are heading in that direction as well.

I have a liquid problem too much liquor at night and not enough coffee in the morningĪpple keep releasing new versions and like Microsoft, collude with Intel to force people to upgrade their hardware.

I wish you luck and please do let us know what happens. I know MacOS has issued with VT-D sometimes but I have no in depth knowledge on the issue & no burning desire to acquire any.
#PROBLEMS WITH LOGIC PRO X DOWNLOAD INSTALL#
Logic can refuse to load its playhead if too many things are still loading or being initialized on first play, but it usually comes back if you let a project load completely and then start transport.Īs the playhead had worked on that install previous to you loading an old project this would seem to rule out any innate hardware problem, though there could be problems with VM pass through, it seems like a low probability issue and not something I am very familiar with. If you had a playhead before you loaded the old project, but now no longer do I would look at Logic plists and resource usage at time of play. I am not very familiar with the intricacies of VMs and Hackintosh, I've set up a a few out of technical curiosity of the inner workings of fBSD and Quartz/Metal but they've never lived for more than a few days before the boxes they ran went back to Linux as utility machines.

These files do presist through new installations in the Library, they can get purged on a product or major OS update as all programs reset and the OS generate new plists.

You seem like you are technically savvy enough to find all Logic preference lists and delete them, which would do the same thing. The reason I asked if you could load an instance of Logic in a new account was to see if it was a preferences issue that was loaded with your old project. I don't think this is your problem though. This also happens in DP to an even bigger degree & FXP so it's probably a class or some boilerplate in Apple's Dev toolkit. The Logic playhead is also very famous for being a low priority, load last thread that can be shunted if a high amount of system resources are being used. I did think of installing a Hackintosh on a third Hard Drive, but it's such a hassle rebooting all the time and getting kexts for a Hack, isn't easy, so that's the reason for the VM I also have a second drive on the same PC with Win7 and that works fine as well. The PC is running Win10 with W10Privacy to get rid of all the spyware and telemetry. So far after getting rid of SIP and MRT it works fine EXCEPT for Logic, which is the main reason that I want a Mac for. It works perfectly - better than it did on the Hackintosh, but I thought it better to try to update to the latest? (there will never be a latest, they make sure of that), so I went for Catalina. It works fine (except for the missing playhead). I've got 64GB RAM in the new board, so I could throw more memory at it, but it isn't necessary.
#PROBLEMS WITH LOGIC PRO X DOWNLOAD MAC OSX#
The idea was to install Mac OSX on the B250 Pro as a VM with 16GB RAM rather than the Hackintosh with only a max of 8GB RAM. I bought an LGA 1150 Asus Prime B250 Pro Motherboard and an i7 CPU. Logic 10.5 will only work on computers with LGA 1150 CPU and not on LGA 775 (my High Sierra Hackintosh).
